In the 2014-2015 winter season Sani Dental Group performed thousands of dental procedures; our patients came to the United States and Canada and many other places.
The dental procedures included Surgeries, Dental Implants, Dental Cosmetics, Dental Cleaning, and Whitening Procedures. For this post, our team of professionals would like to offer you a few post-surgery oral care tips that will help you after a whitening procedure has been performed.
In-Office whitening is the fastest option to whiten teeth. When you visit your dentist he/will apply the whitening product directly to your teeth. With a combination of heat, special light, and/or lasers you can see results in only 30 ~60 min. To achieve the best results several appointments may be required.
This is a jelly-like product with hydrogen peroxide, a chemical agent that bleaches and whitens teeth. The substance is applied to the surface of your teeth, either through strips, toothpaste, trays, or in rinses.
Over-the-counter whitening strips are slim and contain hydrogen peroxide. The strips are easy to apply; in most brands, one treatment is composed of two strips. One strip is placed on the top while the other strip is placed on the bottom of your mouth.
In the kit, a common instruction states to use the product twice a day for two weeks. A minor problem with this product is that results are not seen immediately, they are usually seen after a few days and the result can last for months.
Post-Surgery Oral Care
After receiving whitening treatment, it is necessary to take care that this is consolidated so the final result is not diminished.
- It is recommended that the next five days after you receive any whitening procedures; the patient should avoid eating:
- Red Sauces
- Green Sauces
- Likewise, we recommended the use of mouth rinses with whitening properties to help maintain the achieved color, make rinses for a minute every morning and night before brushing. The use of this product is only 5 days after having received the procedure.
- Use toothpaste that combats the sensitivity for 5 days. You can extend its use until you finish the acquired tube, then returns to the toothpaste of your choice.
- If there is great sensitivity and not enough use of gel to combat the sensitivity it is suggested the use of analgesics in the indicated doses.
For Sani Dental Group, your teeth are our priority! We want your teeth to always be healthy, clean, and white; we understand that sometimes one might need to visit the dentist and if you recently have had a whitening procedure performed in one of our 3 dental clinics, we invite you to follow these simple and easy steps.
Following these will guarantee that the effects and outcome of the bleaching of your teeth will not be decreased nor be altered, instead, they will be consolidated offering you the result you are looking for.
The steps and procedures mentioned in this post are procedures available in the medical field; however, not all these treatments and procedures are performed at Sani Dental Group. To confirm if this procedure is performed at our dental clinics, please contact us directly.
