Today is a very important date for all our Canadian readers, today is Canada Day. As of 2015, 148 would have passed since Canada became a self-governing dominion of Great Britain converting into a 4 provinces: Nova Scotia; New Brunswick; Ontario; and Quebec. We know that not many know of this special date and with this in mind Sani Dental Group decided to explain this special date and emphasized in some key points associate with Canada Day, we invite you to read our post and know about this date.
What is Canada Day?
Canada Day is a Canadian national holiday that commemorates all the efforts and movements that were require in order for Canada to obtain its freedom from United Kingdom. There are several reasons for which Canadians celebrate this day, but one of the key reasons is its historical value.
On July 1, 1867, Canada created the British North America Act, the document defines many major parts of Canada’s constitution. The Act set up much of the framework of Canada Government operation, including its Federal structure, the House of Commons, the Senate, the justice system, and the taxation system. The act was later re-name Constitution Act, 1867 in 1982 through the patriation of the Constitution (a political process that eliminated all of United Kingdom control of Canadian sovereignty.
The Fun Activities
The activities celebrate this vary from on provenience to another. In the province of Quebec, many of its citizens spend Canada Day moving their possessions from one house to another; as their home one year home lease starts on July 1. On the other hand citizens who live in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, use the July 1 date to commemorate all the brave soldiers who lost their lives in WWI, for them July 1 is also Memorial Day. In Ottawa, Canada’s capital city, here the celebration in particularly exuberant, many of its citizens displayed Canada’s national flag on their faces, their car, their home, etc. Overall Canada Day is a national holiday that is celebrated outdoors, even if the mornings are busy (either moving or remember a love one) the afternoons are full of joy, parades, concerts, carnivals, festivals, and fireworks.
