Your Skin

The largest organ in the body is the skin; on adults, the total average area consist about 20 square feet. This magnificent organ is capable of doing many thing, the skin is able to protect us from microbes and its elements; in addition, this organ helps regulate body temperature and allows the sensation of touch, cold or heat. Over all skin is made up of 3 layers:

  • The Epidermis
    • Outermost layer of skin, this layer provides you a waterproof barrier and our skin color/tone.
  • The Dermis
    • Layer beneath the epidermis, it consist of a tough connective tissue where hair follicles and sweat glands are.
  • The Hypodermis
    • This is the deepest layer of our skin and is made up fat and connective tissue.

Fact: Melanocytes cells produce the pigment melanin, this are responsible of our skin color.

Love your Skin in your 50’s

Step 1 – Cleanse
